Drilling technology innovations have led to the beginning stages of a revolutionary expansion of North American oil and gas production. The US is forecast by several analysts to become a larger producer of oil/gas than Saudi Arabia in the next decade. Proven drilling technology applications have led to discoveries of massive new gas and oil fields. In addition, these new technologies are rejuvenating old production fields in states such as Texas, Oklahoma, California and Louisiana. Production expansion will both rejuvenate existing  mineral rights and increase the number of royalty owners.
